Who we are.
Air Future 2024 Ltd is an audited New Zealand unlisted company incorporated in November 2023. Air Future 2024 Ltd has over 3,350 shareholders.
Air Future has the exclusive rights within Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands to manufacture and commercialise a range of MDI transport vehicles (AirPods, Airone and Aircity), electricity and energy storage applications.
Our story.
Air Future 2024 Ltd has been associated with MDI SA of Luxembourg since 1999 when the Company initially purchased manufacturing rights for three MDI vehicle plants to be built within Australia and New Zealand.
In 2006 these vehicle rights were expanded to include rights to licence the MDI emergency electricity generator (Genset) applications. Our license area was also expanded to include the Pacific Islands.
In 2011 Air Future 2024 Ltd discontinued developing its proprietary mesh network communication technology and elected to place its full support towards MDI and commercialise the MDI opportunity.
In 2017 in recognition of the respected continuing support provided by Air Future 2024 Ltd to MDI, Air Future 2024 Ltd was granted exclusivity rights within our licence area to the MDI vehicle (AirPods, Airone and Aircity), electricity and energy storage applications within the Air Future 2024 Ltd licence area.
Today the exclusive MDI license rights are the result of a nearly twenty year history of supportive cooperation and partnership between the two Companies. With MDI now having achieved the development of the first products and Air Future 2024 Ltd now positioned to commercialise this essential and affordable technology within Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Air Future 2024 Ltd looks forward to an exciting future embracing this globally important technology.
Our business.
ELECTRIC VEHICLES | ENERGY STORAGE | LOCAL MANUFACTURE
Our industries are clean renewable energy and clean transport. Our products within those industries are energy storage and electric vehicles. Our storage (batteries) uses compressed air instead of chemicals, and our vehicles are manufactured using advanced composite materials. Our manufacture is regional and cleaner than in competitor products.
There is an intimate and interwoven relationship between Air Future and MDI, and more broadly between MDI and its global corporate partners like Tata, Veolia, KLM and others. MDI’s focus is on research & development and industrialisation. MDI do not themselves commercialise, which Air Future does under exclusive licences. This is the great opportunity for Air Future, and hence for its investors and shareholders - and for Australasia.
Our business is at the centre of the world wide renewable energy industry that is the replacement industry for the fossil fuel industry, perhaps the largest industry transformation of the twenty first century.
Whilst the revolutions in renewable energy and clean transport are well underway, they are also still in their infancy. In both industries there are significant hurdles, and the products being brought to market by Air Future overcome some of these biggest hurdles. We look at this as an opportunity to create benefits for the environment, for consumers, and for investors.
Storage is critical, since much renewable energy (like solar and wind) is intermittent, and it needs to be stored when nature is not providing. Electric vehicle design is also critical, as currently electric vehicles are much too expensive and batteries are inconvenient on trips. We create a new level of affordability and convenience overcoming these shortcomings.
